When it comes to Getting Known and Being Seen, a blog is one of the best places to start. It’s a powerful way to showcase your expertise, highlight your message, and make it easy for clients to find you. A blog is like your online stage; always ready for you to step up and share your voice.
The real value of a blog isn’t just in the words you publish once. It’s in how those words can live on and be shared across Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), or even repurposed for your email newsletter. It’s what I like to call the “rinse and repeat” strategy: simple, effective, and sustainable.
But what happens when you don’t have time to update your blog every week? How do you keep showing up without slipping into content overwhelm? The secret is to think outside the box and make the most of the content you’ve already created.
1. Share Your Previous Blogs
Here’s the truth: the internet is full of billions of people, and most of them didn’t see your post the first time around. Sharing your older blogs gives you a second (or third!) chance to be discovered.
Think about it; if you wrote a blog six months ago on “Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking” and it sparked great comments, why not share it again? You could also post it in a different way. For example, turning the key points into a video on LinkedIn or sharing a quote as an image on Instagram. Suddenly, the same content finds new life.
2. Update and Refresh Your Blogs
Google loves fresh content, and so do your readers. Updating older posts is a simple SEO win. Change the title to reflect current trends, add a new example, update your statistics, or share a recent client story.
For example, I once refreshed a blog on confidence in speaking by adding a short story about a client who went from freezing on stage to confidently sharing her message at a networking event. That small update gave the blog new energy and a brand-new audience.
3. Repurpose Your Other Content
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Look at the resources you already have:
- A podcast transcript can become a blog.
- A recorded workshop can be broken into three posts.
- A chapter from your book can be expanded into multiple articles.
One of my clients wrote a book and was surprised when I showed her, she had at least 20 blog posts hiding in those pages. That’s content gold, just waiting to be shared.
Blogging for business doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Re-share, refresh, repurpose; and suddenly, your blog becomes a treasure chest of visibility opportunities. Challenge yourself to blog regularly and remember: your words have power. The more you use them, the more you’ll get known, be seen, and attract the clients who need you most.
